4/18/10 : Wow! What a whirlwind of weeks it has been. In between personal travel Mark and Wendy had the opportunity to take some mini classes from Ewald Notter in Dallas. We have also been booked up to capacity for every weekend since Easter. The outlook is the same for the next weekend at least. And the weekend of May 1st is already half way there too.

10/26/09 : We have been kinda out of sorts for posting picts and such on the website since our trips out of town. We hope to be back in a routine soon though. There are still some picts we haven't posted yet so please be patient if you don't see your cake here.
10/11/09 : We are now back in town to stay after what seems like months traveling and going to cake classes and workshops. We were unable to compete in Tulsa at the Oklahoma Sugar Art Show this year due to last minute changes. Although we did attend and again was blown out of the water by the quality of work and willingness to share knowledge and experience. Wendy even stayed for a few more days and took classes with the "Three J's" aka- James Rosselle, Jason Ellis, and Joshua John Russell. Due to uncooperative weather the piece didn't come home complete, but we will have pictures posted as soon as it is finished.
9/30/09 : We have been extremely busy learning new techniques while we attended cake camp last week. Check out our cake camp learnings here.
9/14/09 : The tasting was a successful one this past weekend. Thanks go out to all those that were able to attend and helped raised money for a cancer charity in the local area called Cancer Sucks. Please drop by our facebook page and let us know what your favorite item was from the tasting.
9/5/09 : Well another month of 2009 has passed us. We did an outstanding bandana cake this weekend. It turned out really cute! We also did another beautiful castle, Diego, leaking coffee cup cake (if you work in hot cup manufacturing business you'll understand this one). You might notice we removed our Guest Book/Comments page. We had to do this because of spamming. We are working on putting together a webpage where we will simply copy and paste any comments you send us regarding our caking abilities. Please bear with us.
8/31/09 : Check out the August link for the newest additions to our photos. We did a zebra striped topsy turvy an a carved Chevy SSR. These among others have finished out our August. Be sure to check out our updated menu for the tasting. Save up all your sugar cravings for Sept 11 and 12 then come see us. It will be great sweets for cheap!

If you call ahead we will be more than happy to have it packaged up to satisfy your sweet tooth. We have done a lot of sculpted cakes this month so check out the August link. We hope to see you next in a few weeks at our tasting!!

7/18/09 : OK, OK! We are very sorry about being so busy we haven't been able to update the website since June. We also haven't been able to start the cake or candy special of the month yet either. We are trying to make sure you receive the highest quality confection possible and right now that is our custom cakes and candies. We have started the July link to take a look.
6/28/09 : June is almost gone along with our first month of HOT summer weather! Check back here to find out what's coming in July. We are going to start offering a cake of the month that can be picked up while you are out and about for dessert after dinner or just because. Please keep in mind the availability calendar we have now put up. We are completely booked for the weekend of July 11th and others are filling fast.
6/19/09 : Well, our weekends are filling as you can tell by our calendar! The warmer the weather the more fun everyone wants to have. Need a BBQ cake or a swimming pool cake? Give us a call and we can make your summer dreams come true in cake. Give us a call at the first inkling of needing a cake and we will figure out how to make a cake the way you want it. Take care and stay cool this summer.
6/7/09 : Hello again and Welcome! Its that time of year again, young hearts yearn to be together, Weddings are planned, cakes are paid for, you get the idea. We have been quite busy with the wedding season upon us, but we think we have done some nice work, and it would appear that our clients agree. If you are planning that special occasion, please give us a call at 903.223.7016 and we will schedule a time to consult with you and make your plans happen! Please contact us by e-mail if there is something you would like to see on the website, something that would make it a more pleasant experience. We are working on a search function, those are kind of tough to work out. Thank you for your visit, let us know what we can do for you!
6/1/09 : Thanks to those of you that let us know our May link wasn't working right for a little while. We have since fixed it so you can see your creations. Check out our cupcakes shaped like a horse in the June edition of ALT magazine for Runnin WJ Ranch and read about the wonderful work they do with both children and adults. 05/26/09 : Ever needed a 3D dragon cake for a birthday? Check out our May cakes and take a look at our first dragon wedding cake! Also we have added a link on the left showing our calendar and what dates are limited and unavailable. Please take a look and if you are thinking about something for one of the limited weekends contact us to ensure you get the quality cake you deserve.
05/17/09 : Wow. That's all we can say. Wow. The Wedding and Grooms cakes up top were for Chasity (the third partner) and her husband. Other than her unique wedding cake design, we have had a slew of cakes that were different and a challenge to make. Please check out our May page for new items
05/11/09 : Here it is... the long anticipated update to May 09!!!! It has been difficult, but here are most of the cakes to date. Chasity Grissom is no more. Chasity Russell is cavorting around northern Arkansas and will return once the Honeymoon money is gone. Congratulations to her and her husband Jason!!!! We of course did the wedding cake, and it is like nothing you have seen. That cake will be posted on the next update. This one is a partial update and corrects a few errors. Welcome back, browse the cakes, get an idea and come talk to us.
4/11/09 : Hope everyone had a Happy Easter. April was looking like it was going to be slow, but that has rapidly changed. The weekends of April 18 and 25 are nearly completely booked. So if you need something from us in those 2 weeks your best bet is to get it during the week. Also if you didn't know it one of us is getting married on May 8th and the shop will most likely be closed May 7th through May 10th. So again if you need something during that timeframe you will need to order it for an early delivery. Also we have given our website a makeover so take a look and let us know what you think. We really do appreciate the input! 3/25/09 : Welcome back, hope you have been having fun! We have been pretty busy here, check out March and see what cool things we have done. We have some large scale carved cakes coming up in the next few weeks, so stay tuned and see what will come roaring out of our shop next! Thank you so much for stopping by, browse and give us a call to make your next event!!!
3/15/09 : Hello again. Thank you for taking the time to check and see if we updated anything on the pages. Well, we have. The Wedding Cakes page has two new additions, and March has had seven more cakes put on. Nothing much more to add so I will let you all get to looking. If you have any suggestions on how to make our site easier to navigate or more usefull to you, then do not hesitate to send us an e-mail at Info@EdibleEleganceTex.com Thank you again and have a nice day!
3/7/09 : Welcome back! We missed you! Go ahead and look again at the February Cakes, we have finally gotten around to updating the last 11 cakes for the month. Things have been hopping around here. We went to the Nashville Cake Competition, we did not win, but the guitar cake we rocked was pretty well received. Food Network personality Michele Bomarito was giving instructional demos and we learned a lot over that weekend. Dallas was the site for a demo by Nicholas Lodge (renowned for his sugar paste work) and we attended that as well. We are continuing our education in cakes, decorating, and candies so we can continue to be on the cutting edge and bring you some great confections. March Cakes has been added and there are a couple new wedding cakes to be seen on the Wedding Cake page. With Mother's and Father's days coming up, you should reward them with a tin of tasty candies or maybe that golf cake would be something different. In any case, come talk to us and we will be happy to sweeten you outlook!
2/15/09 : Hello and we hope you had a great Valentine's Day, if you observed it. If you did not come to see us, you missed out on getting that special someone some delicious Chocolate Dipped Strawberries in Dark, Milk or White chocolate. Real chocolate only here, none of that bark or melt stuff on our strawberries! We temper the chocolate and dip fresh strawberries to give you a sweet, luscious taste. We will also do this for any occasion (weddings, anniversaries, you name it) just give us a few days to get your order made fresh. Bridal fair was fun, tiring but fun. We hope you got to see us and get some questions answered, it feels like we talked to half of Texarkana and a good bit of Atlanta, too! Remember, we don't just do weddings, you know you know somebody that's having a birthday or something. Come see us for that carved cake, logo cupcake tray or specialty design.... we can make it look great! Thank you for your business and have a great day!
1/27/09 : Hello there, how you doin? Can I interest you in some cake? Take a look around, see what we have to offer. You know you want some. We have had a slew of new projects recently. Take a peek at January to find out what 350 cupcakes look like grouped in 50, 100 and 200. Perhaps HealthCare Express has a deal with a dentist somewhere. Magic knives have been at work carving cake into likenesses of Corvettes and, dare I mention it??? R2D2! You know, the trashcan looking guy for the good... err... original Star Wars movies. We are having a blast doing these cakes and hope you give us the chance to do our thing for you! Don't forget, Bridal Fair at Central mall this Saturday January 31st. We will be there with pictures of our cakes and doing our part to make your wedding ideas come to life. See you soon!!!
1/13/08: Happy New Year!!! 2008 was a great year for us and you have helped get our little shop off the ground in a grand way. We look forward to serving you the best cakes and candies you have ever had in this new year and hope you give us a try for your next occasion. We have our January cakes updated, take a look and see how well we wield an airbrush! We will be part of this years Bridal Fair at Central Mall in Texarkana at the end of this month, so come on out and see what we can do for you! We are planning on having a sample or two and will more than likely be registering attendees for a discount on their wedding cake. If you are getting married you should come out and see what your local companies can do for you (ok, mainly just us, but other folks will be there). The holidays may be over, but Valentines is coming up and everybody knows someone with a birthday, so give us a call or come by and let us make you next special event a sweet memory!
12/15/08 : Merry Christmas and hello to you!. We have been busy little elves in our sweatshop of sweets so far this month. And we'd be busier still if you call us up and order some of our delicious fudge or a cookie tray, you know, so you wouldn't have any more work to do this holiday season than you have to do already. We are considering entering our first competition next month, so wish us well if we take that plunge. We are planning to be out at Central Mall for the Bridal Fair in January, so check us out for wedding ideas. We have already made one wedding cake set for this month and have a few more that will be posted after we bake em up, so check back in a couple weeks. Hope you have a great holiday no matter which one you celebrate!
11/28/08: HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all of you fine folks out there. We hope you have many things to be thankful for and wish you the best. We are pleased to announce our continued partnership with Mrs.Virginias Sweet Potato Pies in that we will carry them in low supply and can order pies as you desire them from Mrs. Virginia. 11/18/08 : Hello and Welcome to our website! Thank you to all of the people who made our Tasting/Open House a success!!!! Hopefully you came out and took advantage of a great deal on sweets and got the chance to get acquainted with us. If you did not, then shame on you! Stop by, pick up some Fudge (the butterscotch fudge is really good) or maybe an order of Peanut Butter Balls dipped in real milk chocolate. We are going to keep the shop open from 5-7pm Monday through Friday, and by appointment of course. Chances are good we will be in Saturdays as well, but no guarantees. If you drive by and see our bright red OPEN sign, then drop in and say hello. Call now to get your holiday candy trays ordered or if you have a cake you want to celebrate with. Check out our cakes for November so far. Have fun and hope to see you soon!
11/03/08: Welcome back to the sweet spot on the web. Check out the final October Cakes update to see an outstanding, if gruesome, example of the creativity we can bring to your next cake event. We pride ourselves on going all out to make your desires a reality in the cakes we do. KTAL has posted the video of our interview about the Small Business Development Center here in Texarkana. If you click HERE then you should be able to see our television debut. Try not to laugh. Powdered sugar.. what was I thinking? Enjoy. Also.. our open house and tasting event is this weekend! We hope to meet you and get you acquainted with our services. Come see us!
10/18/08: Welcome to our website! We are instituting some new items to try and make your visit here smooth and useful. There is a new page for Links to area businesses that you may find helpful. We also moved the updates to their own page so only the latest items clutter up the main page. Our little shop was featured in a story on KTAL channel 6 on 10/15/08 about the Small Business Development Center in Texarkana (we are going to see if we can snag the video and show it to you on our site, stay tuned). We are in talks with the owner of Ms Virginias Sweet Potato Pies (old owner of our building) and we may carry her pies for the holidays. You know what goes well with pie?? Cake! And maybe some Peanut Butter Balls! Brittle is good, too. See our Candy Page for your sugary needs. Order early for holiday gift baskets and cakes so you can be sure you get Edible Elegance for your table!
10/02/08: Thank you for checking out our website, we hope you enjoy the pictures and it makes you want something sweet! If you can get your hands on a copy, Edible Elegance and its founders are featured on two whole pages of the October issue of Four States Living Magazine, published here in Texarkana by Robin Court and staff. The article was written by Kristal Hardin and features some background on your humble cake decorating and confection folks here at Edible Elegance. We are a unique mix of talents for sure, but we enjoy bringing you great tasting and great looking desserts.
09/25/08: We are proud to announce the opening of our new shop in early October!!!!!! We look forward to serving you out of our new storefront at 607 Redwater Road in Wake Village , right there on the circle in the former home of Virginias Sweet Potato Pie shop. Our new home will allow us to bring you, our customers (and future customers!), more services and products with the same excellent quality and workmanship you have come to expect. We plan to have an open house/tasting in the near future and are working with our new neighbors to make it into a block party so you can meet us and check out our sweet stuff so check back and we will post a date when we get it all ironed out.
